Menu for the week of July 30 - August 4
A double strong version of Crusher Run! Vinous aromas, with fresh uncut grass high notes approaching hay, compliment a semi-sweet toasty middle-palate. Higher notes of gooseberry and wildflowers with a deceptively crisp finish.
Brewed with Southeast-grown Riverbend barley, rye and wheat, knocked out cold and allowed to free-rise in temperature before adding our farmhouse blend, and brettanomyces grown from bottles of Mother Vine, which miraculously made it through the flood. Collaboration with Zillicoah Brewing Co.
An extremely crisp and refreshing lager for the early summer. While categorically the same as the American macro domestics, Knuckleboom is a corn-heavy lager (29% corn!) double decocted with Riverbend malt and malted Ohio blue corn and a restrained dose of Michigan Bergamot hops.
This traditional American Pale Ale is light bodied, incredibly crisp and refreshing. Fruit forward notes, light hop profile.
Smoked Amber Lager brewed in collaboration with Brew Bridge (Owensboro, KY) and Sugar Creek Malt Co. (Lebanon, IN). Oak and Alder smoked pilsner malt provide a rich but soft smoky base, and caramel rye malt rounds out a gentle up-front sweetness that fades quickly into a crisp semi-dry finish.
Notes of watermelon rind, green peach, lemon peel and white wine grape. Grounded in earthiness, dry finishing.
Citrus high notes meet tropical undertones, with glimpses of citrus-blossom honey, heavy tropical fruit and ripe citrus flavors, balanced with a full body and dry finish.
Strong saison brewed to benefit ReString Appalachia! 1 dollar per pour and 3 dollars per bottle sale goes to ReString Appalachia. Malt generously donated by Riverbend Malt House.

Why the name Leveller?
Leveller Brewing Co. takes its name from the Levellers, the 17th century group of English radical agrarians who believed in equality, popular sovereignty, and that the land should be held in common by all. We admire the spirit of the Levellers and think that beer is at its root a radical agrarian product - a way to preserve the harvest and nourish the common person.
Where are you located?
We are located at 25 North Main Street, adjacent to a free public parking lot, and directly across from Well Bred Bakery. The indoor seating area is intimate with a good view of the brewhouse and cozy European cafe vibes. The outdoor seating area is covered, surrounded by lush passionflower vines, and a good place to watch the world go by.
Who are you?
We are husband and wife Andrew Zinn and Sally Anne Morgan. Andrew has brewed professionally for the past decade or so, most notably as the head of sour production at Wicked Weed. Sally is an artist and musician and likes to drink beer.

Other options besides beer?
We have so many options! We keep a rotating selection of natural wines that we serve by the glass (or by the bottle) focusing on vineyards and winemakers that use organic, biodynamic or otherwise restorative farming techniques. We also serve locally made cider from Botanist & Barrel.
Non-alcoholic options include sodas from Devil’s Foot, Bood Kombucha, NA Beers from Untitled Art, and Dram adaptogenic seltzers.
What’s with all the sheep?
Thank you for noticing all the sheep. We love sheep and take inspiration from their earthy aromas and soft fluffy fleeces. We have a small flock at our farm in nearby Alexander. We feed them partially on spent grain from the brewhouse, and like to connect the circle by selling their yarn and other wool products out of the brewery.
Dogs?
We love dogs! Good dogs allowed, please keep them on a leash.
Children?
We love children! Please bring them. We wish we had more room for free ranging and running around, but space is limited.
Can I bring in outside food?
Yes, while we do have a selection of fancy snacks, we allow outside food as well.
